Abstract

This study was conducted to identify management procedure towards Limar Fabric Collection used by Museum Institution of Terengganu. The research conduct at Museum institution of Terengganu because of status as the only one of the institutions in Malaysia who take responsibilities to preserve and conserve the heritage of Limar fabric, especially in Terengganu. This study also aims to identify theoretical and practical methods for managing museum collections and procedure used by the Museum Institution in managing the Limar fabric collection. This study will focus on the management of textile collections towards Limar Fabric towards their procurement, registration, conservation, storage, research and exhibitions. Through this study it will assist researchers in discovering collection management proposals especially for textile collection in museum institutions to improve their management toward Limar fabric collection. The management essentially need to preserve the Limar fabric textile collection should be taken efficiently to preserve, conserve and exhibit to the next generation.
