Abstract

This study focuses on psychopathic characters in film and how it is produced. Firstly, the researcher will identify the criteria needed in the character‟s creation, as an example the past experiences of the character and his/her desires. Next is the characteristic of a realistic psychopath whereas this psychopath is a non-fictional character. For example, a psychopath is someone with egoistic character and does not has mercy. The methodology of this study was descriptive design by using laboratory observation (film analysis), surveys (interviews) and sources from Youtube. The findings show that character‟s criteria can be identified through film analysis such as desires, obstacles, differences, disclosures and secrets of the character. Realistic psychopathic features can also be analyzed by interviewing psychiatrists and collected data from documentary film that discusses on psychopath.
