Abstract

The purpose of this study is to review on The Impact of Tourism towards the Local Culture in Cherating, Pahang. The view of Cherating's beach becomes one of the attraction for tourist to choose Cherating as their destination. This study is focusing on daily activities of villagers which is includes the way of their life, food, clothing and others. The objectives of this study are (I) to classify the characteristic of their culture, (2) to describe changes in local culture and, (3) to analyze daily ac tivities by the villagers in Cherating. The qualitative method had been used by using the interview and analyzes the related document as main instrument in this review. The result from this study shows that the culture in Cherating was experienced a change in aspect of social and daily activities. Even though the villagers used to the visiting of tourist to the Cherating but based on the infonnation gathered, the tourism gives some effect to them.
