Abstract
Music album packaging is the container that holds and keeps the musIc disc. This packaging plays its roles as a disc protector and also as a media to deliver the music album messages. The unique packaging design for music album can attract people's attention to buy it. Sarawak is the place where some unique ethnic music from different ethnic groups can be found. Recently, there have been some efforts to market Sarawak ethnic music in the form of music album. However, the researcher observation found that these music album packaging designs are still lack in application of design elements and experimental graphic. Besides that, they do not have such a strong market strategies to promote Sarawak ethnic music albums. Hence, Sarawak ethnic music album fails to attract attention of the people. Through this project, the research was conducted started with market research, literature review, interview, questio!U1aire and observations. All the collected research data from this research will be used to solve the research problem statements. Thus, a music album packaging which is applied with design elements and experimental graphic is proposed to promote Sarawak's ethnic music nationally and internationally.
