Abstract

The population pattern study and biomass allocation of:1. hewittii and:1. brachvphvllus (both are endemic in Sarawak) were conducted at limestone area ofAup Hill, Sarikin, Bau. The distribution ofthese species showed that :1. hrachyphyllus had the highest total individuals of 92 plants more than d.. hewittii (45 individuals) in 10 plots (20 m x 20m). Mean ofsize for length, width, and weight on seeds andfleshy fruits of:1. hewittii and :1. brachyphyllus were significantly influenced by the characteristic ofthe species except for fleshy fruit 's width. Biomass allocation analysis consists leaf weight ratio (LWR), stem weight ratio (SWR), specific leaf area (SLA) and leaf area ratio (LAR) were significantly different (p<0.05) between seedlings and matured plants of :1. hewittii. The forest structure and biomass estimation assessments recorded the total of220 individual trees (75 species). Mallotus korthalsii contributed the highest leafarea index (J00I .6m2) , basal area (7364.05cm2), highest density (27 individual) and important value (IV=18.36). Besides, the highest biomass was presented by Artocarpus sericicarpus which are 24389. 9kglha from the total biomass of263.121tanlha.and LAI was 2.9halha.
