Abstract
This research project assesses the possible reasons behind the recent box office success of locally-produced Chinese-language films in the Malaysian market, analyzing the marketing strategies of these productions. These films terget particular subject matter and genres while employing specific methods in their promotional material, social media publicity, special events, and other marketing devices. The findings from this study are then applied to the production and marketing of a short student film, (Forced).
