Abstract
This study aims to identify the sources of workplace stress and its relationship with job satisfaction among officers in Maybank Kuching. Its objective is to find the association between organizational characteristics to the banking officers' stress and its re'lationship with job satisfaction. The respondents were 167 officers from Maybank Kuching Diviscy The findings showed that Majority of the respondents are neutral (70.0%) with their workplace stress, 24.2% disagree and only 5.8% agree with their workplace stress. The findings of this study also indicated that there is no significant different between demographics characteristics (gender and marital status) with the bank officers' workplace stress. In contrary, all the organizational characteristics variables have significant relationship with the bank officers' workplace stress and organizational climate & structure having most dominant correlation relationship. Meanwhile, all the organizational characteristics variables were negatively related to job satisfaction except career development. The overall result showed that majority. of the Maybank officers (54.2%) were satisfied working in Malayan Banking Berhad. Whereas 19.2% of the respondents were very satisfy working in Malayan Banking Berhad. This is followed by 23.3% (28 persons) of respondents who are neutral. However only 3.3% (4 persons) of respondents are not satisfying working in Maybank. In summary, this study show that majority of Maybank officers are satisfied working in Maybank Kuching.
