Abstract
Generally, this research was carried out to investigate the criteria that influence executives' perception towards the Quality of Work Life (QWL) in JKR head quarter Sarawak. A total of 50 respondents were chosen by using simple random sampling methods. Questionnaires were distributed to collect data. The independent variables in this research consist of respondents' demography characteristics which included gender, age, marital status, academic achievement, and year of service. Meanwhile, the dependent variables consist of 9 QWL criteria which included safety, reward, füirness in the workplace, job design, self and career development opportunity, social interaction within organization, autonomy, feedback, and quality of family life. This study identified the overall QWL level and level of each different criteria of QWL. Beside that, this research also identified the perception of respondents toward the priorities of the different criteria of QWL. The finding from the research showed that the total level of QWL in an organization was at a high level (Mean = 119.10). The research also indicated that respondents were most satisfied with the job design (Mean = 14.54) while respondents were least satisfied with the quality of family life (Mean = 10.60). In analyzing the priorities of the Q WL criteria, job design was given the top priority (38%) while quality of family life was given the lowest priority (2%). The study also indicated that no significantly differences in KKB based on respondents demography characteristics, which were gender, marital status, age, and academic achievement. However, there was a significantly differences between year of services and QWL. The findings of this study also showed that there was a significant relationship between age and year of services towards QWL. As a conclusion, the top management should aware of QWL criteria that , exist in their organization to achieve an organizational vision, mission, and objective with more effective way, especially job design because it was a most dominant factor in respondents' perception for priority
