Abstract

Moving towards the information age has changed the world's perspective on business act globally. The transformation of conventional system the computerized system has become a new business trend and strategy in competing with the current business environment. Gaining competitive edge is an essence for any organization to survive in the information and computerization technology (ICT) world. The aim of this project is creation of an information system that could be fully utilized by Parent-Teachers Association (PTA) in conducting its business. Parents and Teachers Association information system (PTAIS) is a computerized system which enables the user, specifically its committee member to access the PTA member records and to edit the saved information as desired. It is a tool to record and to store members' information, to keep track of the account statement, and to record the annual events for the purpose of dissemination. Reviews on existing systems and technology are being conducted so as to obtain clear picture, thus thorough understanding to the system that are to be most relevant for PTA. Testing and evaluation are then conducted on system prototype so that the developed system meets the real requirement of the user. Finally, the suggestions on future work could provide much enhancement to the future generation of PTAIS. With PTAIS, managing PTA would be much more convenient, making PTA, as other organizations in par with the advancement in information age.
