Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between manager's supervisory power and executives work commitment. This research consist of three main objectives, that is to determines the differences that exist among executives demographic factors and work commitment, to determine the relationships that exist between the variety or supervisory power and executives work commitment and lastly to determine manager's most dominant power. Data was collected through the use of a questionnaires distributed to 130 respondents, but only 58 respondents was been used for the sample. Questionnaire consist of three sections (Section A: Respondent Demographic, Section B: Perception towards Manager's Supervisory Power, Section C: Work Commitment). The data collected was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences Version 11.5. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze demography factor using frequency and percentage while inference statistics involve t-test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson Correlation and Regression Linear were used to analyze the significant relationship between manager's supervisory power and executives work commitment. The result obtained indicated that from the overall, 57. 7% executives were in the average level of work commitment towards the organization. The findings showed that the entire manager's supervisory power except coercive power had a significant relationship with work commitment. Expert power indicates a higher relationship with work commitment (r=0.398, p=0.02). It is also found to be a dominant power among manager's supervisory power (R2 =0.159 and Beta=0.398). As an early effort, it is hoped that the findings of this research will gives a guideline to improve or maintain the leadership skills among managers.
