Abstract
This study is designed to discover the factors affecting early school in five primary schools in Upper Layar River. It is intended to highlight the major factors, early indicators shown by the potential dropouts and ways to prevent and reduce the dropouts' rate base on headmasters, teachers and dropouts' views. For the purpose of this study two types of instruments were employed for the data collection. There were separate questionnaire for the dropouts, headmasters and teachers. The dropouts' questionnaires were given to 32 dropouts from these five primary schools. The teachers' questionnaires were distributed to 5 headmasters and 50 teachers from the same schools. The interview, were conducted to 2 headmasters and 36 teachers. From the analysis of the findings it is found that majority of the respondents viewed similar factors affecting early school dropout in the five selected primary school in Upper Layar River
