Abstract

This research was done to study the structure and role of every administration and management unit in Asset Management Division (AMID) hence to identify the strength and weaknesses of this organization in providing facilities and services to the customer. A survey was also conducted on the Universiti Malaysia Sarawak staff, in particular the AMD staff. The survey subject consists of 40 respondents. The gathered information through the survey was analysed by using descriptive method . The results showed that AMD is executing the management and administration system by following the basic management function model. This model starts from a head to lead every administration matters in AMD. The results also shown that AMD have their own strength and weaknesses resulting from the internal and external factor of the organization itself. A lot of factors were also identified to be the caused of the situation. One of the main factors is understanding and cooperation of the staff in carrying out their duties allocated by the division and the unit head. Even though AMD is facing a lot of problems, they manage to overcome the problems and execute their operation to facilitate and service the customer
