Abstract

Development of ' " Sistem Pengurusan Orkid Berkala (SPOB) is anticipated to bring benefits to the administrator and supervisor wording in Orchid Nursery. The purpose of developing this system is to replace the paper and file based manual system which is still employed by most of the Orchid Garden at present. The project is for the usage of Kuching Orchid Garden which is under North Kuching Municipal Council. The result obtained through interviews and observation shown that the administration on the nursery and the schedule of managing the orchid are done manually. However, this manual . sv, ste m is ineffcient as it still using the forms prepared by the supervisor is recording. Thus, inaccuracy in the data recorded and redundancy are always occurred. T hereföre, the developing of this system is to overcome the identified problems . such as recording the data of new orchid, uniformity in division of zone, planning the schedule of duty systematically and producing reports. The operation . system used in this project is Windows XP as the platform. Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Enterprise Edition is used as the tool to develop interactive interfaces and Microsoft Access is used as database to store data. There are , four modules developed, f or SPOB; Password Module, Orchid Management Module, Zone Division Module and Orchid Maintenance Module. However, these prototypes still have room, for improvement to enhance SPOB in future.
