Abstract

The main aim of this study is to examine the effectiveness of the communication campaign in order to enhance self awareness on the saving practises among teenager in Sarawak. This study shows the success of the promoting of information about Skim Amanah Saham Bumiputera through the mass media, especially the print and electronic media. This study also try to identify the important sources of information regarding the Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB). Amongst other, this study examines the successfulness of the campaign to educate the investors and potential investors especially teenager through activities like seminars and special talks organized by Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad The data was analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) in a descriptive manner. The finding of the study revealed that the communication campaign was a successful in enhancing self awareness of the saving practises among teenagers. This study also identified parents and teachers as the main sources of information to educate the teenagers on the importance of saving their money. Furthermore, this study also discovered that the Investment Education Seminar attracted the attention of the teenagers but need in order to be improved to make it more successful in the future.
