Abstract
The proposed project is an on-line communication system which entitled Focus IT Chat System. It is specially designed for the lecturers and students of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology. This project integrates two distinct processes; chat system and attendance of the lecturers into one application. This project is used to improve the efficiency of the communication between lecturers and students. All the students and lecturers of the faculty will be able to communicate with each others once they are using this system. Besides providing the basic chatting function, this system also enhanced with lecturer attendance list. The lecturers' attendance lists are able to indicate that whether a particular lecturer is around at a particular time. The attendance is taken automatically when a lecturer log in to the system. Students and lecturers can view the announcements and lecturers attendance list through the use of this system. On the other hand, this system also provides a convenient navigation approach that enable user to search for a particular user's information.
