Abstract

The tensile behaviour of oil palm fibre composites is studied. The fibre ,strands of the oil palm are made into particleboard with the mixture of matrix and are loaded by a tensile test machine. The tensile test machine used is the .testometric machine, which will provide-certain parameters for further analysis. The data that will be obtained are the stress, strain, Yomg's Modulus, the ultimate tensile strength and the percentage of elongatmn. Fmce versus elongation graph is presented for experiment conducted at diflerent rates to show its tensile beh~viour. This project also includes identifying its weight frwition of water content where the.specimcn is placed in distilled water. This result will be shown in weight fraction versus time graph in terms of Fickian Law when the water absorption reached to the equilibrium state.
