Abstract

FASA 6.0: Malaysia Negaraku is a landmark international photography exhibition organized by the Department of Photography and Creative Imaging, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Perak, in collaboration with Humanika Artspace, Bandung, Indonesia. Held in 2024, this sixth installment of the FASA series showcases 27 photographic works from a diverse group of artists—students, lecturers, and alumni—each offering a unique interpretation of Malaysian identity and culture. Themed Malaysia Negaraku, the exhibition presents a compelling visual narrative that reflects the nation's multifaceted heritage, socio-political reflections, and collective memory. Works span genres from documentary to conceptual, using photography as a medium for storytelling, cultural preservation, and critical engagement. These artworks articulate personal and national experiences, delving into themes such as tradition, unity, labor, heritage, resilience, and contemporary realities. Building on the legacy of previous editions (2010–2022), FASA 6.0 continues to serve as a vital platform for emerging and established artists, promoting cross-cultural exchange and creative discourse. The partnership with Humanika Artspace amplifies this outreach, situating Malaysian visual culture within a broader Southeast Asian and global context. As both a celebration and interrogation of “Negaraku” (My Country), this exhibition invites audiences to witness Malaysia’s evolving story through the lens of photographic artistry—where every image becomes a conversation about place, identity, and belonging.
