Abstract
Profiled Steel Sheet Dry Board (PSSDB) wall panel as a load bearing wall is structurally efficient and economical in transferring loads to the foundation. This paper describes experimental study and theoretical study of plywood component material properties and the structural behavior of the PSSDB full-scale wall panel. PSSDB wall panels formed from two pieces of plywood (12 mm thick) attached to both sides of profiled steel sheet, SDP-51 (0.80 mm thick) by self-drilling connectors. Two plywood component samples were tested by static-bending test and showed that the average value of the modulus of elasticity was 3.19 x 10; N/mm2. This result is further used in theoretical study of full-scale PSSDB wall panel sample. The full scale wall panel samples were subjected to axial compression load and the results were compared between the two samples and with the theoretical expressions. The average value of the ultimate load capacity for PSSDB wall panel was 34.1 kN. The ultimate load capacity is 13% higher than the theoretical analysis which was 30.12 kN. The maximum lateral displacement for sample one PSSDB panel was 0.72 mm and sample two was 6.2 mm. These different was due to the different types of spreader beams used in testing. This composite wall panel showed good axial load performance which it just deflect 6.0 mm at ultimate load.
