Abstract

Generally, this research aimed to identify the relationship of work stress factors (work intrinsic, role in workplace, interpersonal relationship with colleagues and organizational structure) toward work performance in military service. The research was conducted at the 11th Battalion of Infantry Regiment Askar Melayu Di Raja (RAMD), Kern Semenggo, Kuching, Sarawak. Samples of study were 80 soldiers from several units and divisions in I 1 RAMD from the position of second warrant officer to below. The research was in form of survey using questionnaire sheets as research instrument. Data from the questionnaire forms were analyses using SPSS version 11.5. Results indicated that all hypotheses were rejected. In that case, this research proved that the four factors of stress, which are the work intrinsic factor, role in workplace, interpersonal relationship with colleagues and organizational culture had a significant relationship with job performance. In additional, the research also validated that job stress among the 11 RAMD army soldiers were moderate level
