Abstract
This thesis is a documentation collected through library research, participation, observation and interviews during field trips in Jagoi Duyoh village within Bau District. It highlights about Ayun which is also known as the cradle-songs. They are sung by the Bidayuh women in Jagoi Duyoh village within Bau district, Sarawak. In the olden days, these songs were sung by elderly women to lull the infants to sleep. Today it is very rare to find any elderly women still performing and carrying out this moral act. Henceforth, the urgency of collecting and documenting these cradle-songs for the thesis prompted the quest of this research to be augmented.
