Abstract

An air conditioner must be one of the most popular cooling devices worldwide. Air conditioning was always considered a luxury, but this no longer appears to be the case. The air conditioner provides cool air for a more comfortable working atmosphere and higher air quality, which indirectly improves health, particularly for people with asthma and allergies. There are a considerable number of brands of air conditioners available worldwide, and each brand's air conditioner is constructed in a manner that is only marginally distinct from its competitors. Despite these differences, every air conditioner has the same issue, which is a lack of monitoring for efficiency. When such problems emerge, it is evident that the user will need to perform maintenance on their air conditioner, as neglecting the problem may cause it to worsen and lead to more problems. An IoT-based solution can assist users in determining when to perform air conditioner maintenance. Internet-of-Things (IoT) is utilised due to its ability to track and monitor objects, which also adds to a rise in productivity. Therefore, a project of a system to monitor the efficiency of air conditioner in real-time using IoT can be built. The project will focus on creating an IoT-based monitoring system for air conditioner efficiency. Utilizing the proper sensors is crucial to ensuring that the parameters being measured are accurate and in real-time. Using factors such as temperature, humidity, and dust accumulation, the system will be able to monitor the air conditioner's effectiveness and inform the user if the parameters' values are abnormal, indicating that the air conditioner is inefficient and requires maintenance.
