Abstract

Heritage resources that exist in Malaysia can be used as one factor in the increase of the tourism industry. Each heritage resources that are definitely has its own value that needs to be maintained and preserved. Interpretation and presentation of heritage areas aims to provide information and educate visitors. The process of interpretation intended to increase understanding of visitors using the values in the heritage area. The aim of this research was to document the history, facilities, elements of interpretation and presentation of heritage sites, Kellie's Castle, Batu Gajah, Perak. This research also identify problems and assess the views and suggestions for improvement that can be made by the management of Kellie's Castle in improving interpretation and presentation of heritage sites. Next, the process of data analysis was conducted using qualitative methods of observation and review of the research and interviews with the implementation approach and its inventory. Research findings reveal the interpretation and presentation of heritage sites that need to be done continuously. In addition to informative signs, there is another way of leaflets, brochures, exhibition galleries and the guides. The findings of this research were to raise awareness and interest on the activities of visiting and appreciate the heritage that exists in the country and to encourage efforts heritage interpretation and presentation made by management. Finally, with this research, the historical heritage can be appreciated in addition to Kellie's Castle can help maintain it.
