Abstract

, cholerae is a microorganism that are water-borne and could be found in any water body, including water systems in any buildings. This study was conducted in order to detect the presence of W. cholerae in fruit juice from food premises around Kota Samarahan by isolating and enumerating the V cho!erae from fruit juice that obtained from food premises around Kota Samarahan. The method that was applied in this research are Most Probable Number test and Polymerase Chain Reaction. Serial dilution used in Most Probable Number test are 10,10° and 10°. Most of the isolates have the MPN/g value that in range of <3.0 to 53 MPN/g. Total sample(n=30) show no band on the PCR assay with ctxA gene as positive control. It can be conclude that the fruit juices around Kota Samarahan able to be contaminated by V. cho!erae due to several reason.
