Abstract

Depression and anxiety cannot be taken lightly because they can lead to a lot of disadvantages and the worst case is suicidal. Everyone experiences stress in life and somehow overstress can occur when they are unaware to manage it properly or seek for help. Mental health needs to be monitored especially among students because students are mostly not aware about self-care and they might end up having a mental illness without realising it. Therefore, the aim of this project is to develop a mobile-based application system of DASS-21 which can be one of the approaches to assist students to monitor their severity of depression, anxiety and stress. It consists of 21 questions designed to measure the range of symptoms common to depression and anxiety. When answering DASS-21 assessment, it is required to indicate the presence of a symptom over the previous week. Students can monitor and aware about their mental health and wellness through the mobile application and if they found out that the score is showing the severity of depression, anxiety and stress is high, they can straight reach for helps or consult with doctors or counsellors.
