Abstract

BorneoTutor: Mobile Application for Multi-Language Learning (for beginners) is the proposed project to help in the preservation of native languages in Borneo. The language of Kadazan Dusun and Bidayuh had been chosen to be included for this mobile application. Learning languages are a beneficial skill especially in this modern world where linguisticly skillful people are very needed in all field. This mobile application hopes to help anyone with the intention to learn languages especially Kadazan Dusun and Bidayuh. The demographic of this mobile application does not limit to any age, gender, or profession. This mobile application’s development will implement the methodology of Waterfall model. This report is divided into six chapters. The first chapters discusses on the project’s project title, introduction, problem statement, objectives, methodology, scope, significance of project, project schedule, and expected outcome. The second chapter explains the literature review of this project which include the discussion of mobile application in learning languages, case study of existing systems that are similar to this project, the comparison of existing systems and proposed sytem. The third chapter explains on the analysis of proposed system, the thorough explanation of the system’s design. The fourth chapter will explain on this proposed project’s implementation and development of the mobile app. Next, the fifth chapter discusses the usability of the proposed project along with the user testing that was conducted. The final chapter or the sixth chapter discusses the proposed project’s future work, imitations, and basically the overall conclusion of this project.
