Abstract

The Feeder Frenzee is an Internet of Things (IoT) device that is used to set up a feeding schedule and dispensing water controlled by using Blynk application via user’s smartphone. User can easily feed their pet anytime just by using their smartphone. In this project, the ESP8266 NodeMCU V3 is used for the main part of this project, the ESP8266 NodeMCU V3 will process all the functionalities of all the hardware connected to it and uses the Wi-Fi module embedded on the board to provide a wireless connection for the Feeder Frenzee device. In addition, there are also some other hardware such as the SG90 Servo Motor, 1-Channel Relay Controller Module, 5V Mini Amphibious Water Pump and Digital Water Level Sensor Module that will be used for this project. The servo motor will act as the rotatable motor for opening and closing the food dispenser and the water pump is used to pump the water from the water bottle into the pet’s bowl. Moreover, the Digital Water Level Sensor Module is used for detecting the water level inside the pet’s bowl when water touches the sensor. Furthermore, a mobile application called Blynk will be used for integrating with the Feeder Frenzee device. Besides that, most pets especially cats or dogs preferred more on dry food. The pet owner is unable to leave out wet food because the it will go bad at the moment when the pet has to eat the food. But with the Feeder Frenzee device, the pet’s food will be kept in an air tight container. Based on the user’s testing, it shows that all functionalities of the Feeder Frenzee for Pets satisfied the objectives and the dispenser is working properly with the integration of the Blynk application. In a nutshell, with the development of this Feeder Frenzee for Pets can ease the user daily routine as everything can be manageable and taking good care of the pets with this technology.
