Abstract

Humans can sometimes become too occupied with whatever they are doing and causes them to be not aware of their surroundings. It is not uncommon to come to someone’s house and thinking they are not at home because they don’t answer your calls from the front door. This sometimes is merely because the homeowner is at the back of their home, not aware that someone is coming to their house. The purpose of this paper is to propose and develop a prototype that can be used to inform the homeowner that someone is at their doorstep. This device uses Raspberry Pi 2, a lowcost solution for the high price doorbell system available. This device will connect to the user’s smartphone through Telegram. This system takes advantage of the fact that people nowadays always have their smartphone with them, and they will be alerted through this system that someone is coming to their house.
