Home Security System have an important role in every house. However, the current practises that used by the owners in house when using the conventional lock through manually may be not too safe especially when they were leaving their house. It is inefficient and inconvenient. Besides that, the current home security system might be less effective in preventing the theft. Therefore, a system called as Smart Home Security System is proposed in Final Year Project by using the IoT technology, environment sensors, operational tools, communication module and microcontroller and some programming language. With this system, users can monitor the security system in everywhere. Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology are used in this prototype system to manage the development of the project. A literature review has been proceeded with three review system based on the features and functions to obtain more understanding for the prototype system. Then, requirement will be gathered from the observation and reviewed system in requirement analysis phase. In system design phase, system architecture, system flow chart and web-based user interface design were sketch based on the requirement. System implementation will be proceed based on the requirement and system design and testing will be done using test case after the prototype system is completed. The significance of this project can help users to feel safer when they are leaving their house or being in the house during nighttime. This work aims to improve the existing home security system into a smart home security system using IoT. This may help to reduce the risk of security of everyone who are living outside of the campus. There are few of hardware and software in IoT have been used in this system.
