Abstract

This study is attempts to study the pattern and evolvement of military expenditure in Asian. In addition, the study is to cluster the countries among its military expenses. The study has used time series data collected of 13 Asian countries from 1988 to 2012. The variable that has been used for this study is military expenses. Furthermore, the study is tested by using panel methodology that proposed by Philips and Sul (2007), to identify whethermilitary expenses in Asian country is converging or diverging.The results of the study show thatonly two clubs of convergence are found. The studies suggest that the government have to play their important role in implementing a good policy that could attract more country to collaborate to each other. On the other hand, Research and Development (R&D) also important as the information about military expenses can be improved in the future.
