A study to determine the density of Javan myna (Acridotheres javanicus) was conducted in the Kuching district focusing on two different cities mainly in north Kuching and south Kuching City including the Waterfront, Jalan Dato' Ajibah Abol and the Spring Shopping Complex area. A total of 18 line transects have been set up and each area has six transects of 500 m length that made up to a total of 3 km per transect. The observations started at 0630 to 0930 in the morning and 1530 to 1730 in the evening using binocular MEADE 8x42 Glacier, compass SlJNTC KB-J.4/360R a:1d RunKceper a mobile software as the range tracker for each transect. The study was conducted in the middle of November 2013 until the end of January 2014. The overall result for Kuching district shows a value of 21.910 individuals/ha and as for each area density resulted in values of 13.856 individLtals/ha, 2i.337 individunls/ha and i3.856 idividuals/ha in the Spring Shopping Complex, Waterfront ad Jalan Dato' Ajibal Abol area respectively. As a conclusion, the density of Javan myna is greater in north Kuching City than in south Kuching City. Thus, alternative hypothesis is accepted.
