Abstract

The aim of this study is to explore on the factors influencing job performance among teachers teaching examination classes in secondary school at Kanowit, Sarawak. To be precise, this study was to identify the factors influencing on the job performance among teachers teaching examination classes in secondary school in the aspects of students’ behaviours, school environment, colleagues, workload, stress, teaching materials/ resources, technology/ ICT, top management and administration and recognition, examining the issues that are related to the job performance among teachers teaching examination classes and providing some recommendations or suggestions to improve job performance among teachers teaching examination classes in the future. The study conducted on a total of four participants representing teachers teaching examination classes is an effort in obtaining information based on the experiences of each participants when engaging in performing duties as an academic staff at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kanowit, Sarawak. This study is conducted by using qualitative method to obtain information in more detail. In-depth interview method and document analysis is the method that had been used to collect data. This study of factors facing by teachers teaching examination classes should be brought to expose the main problems that had caused the performance of these teachers keeps on declining day by day. The finding for this research work can contribute to the body of knowledge. It can also be used as a guideline for the future researchers to explore more on others aspects that are related to the issues that had influenced on the job performance among the teachers especially teachers in Sarawak.
