Abstract

In this study, researchers have chosen to study about the application of origami production techniques in ceramic installations. This study aims to identify the features of folding techniques in the form of origami production. Origami is one of Japan's growing cultural achievements lately. Not only in Japan, origami art has begun to be much sought after in other countries such as America, Europe, and even in Malaysia. This can be seen many emergence of communities, workshops, and diversity of origami forms. This significant origami development can not be separated from the view that origami is a fun activity and has proven its benefits, especially for education. The method of teaching using origami is already applied in teaching. This study was also conducted to see the renewal of debut origami form using a new medium of ceramics. This approach is used because the production of origami using ceramic is a way that is not yet widely produced by leading artists as most artists produced origami form only by using paper media through fold approaches. Installation art is the art of displaying work in a space that allows the audient to move around the work or the art that displayed at every corner. The researcher also will examine the problems and internal conflicts experienced by the researcher in studying this study.
