Abstract
This st udy wa s ca nied out wilh two trealments on Jatrop ha c"rcas seeds. Hydra tion treatment by soaking the seeds in the water bath at temperat ures of 30, 35 and 40 a C for 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes. Seeds were also treated fo r different period with fungic ide, Thiram prior for eva luation for moisture content, viability and gemlina tion. Results indica ted that hydration of seeds at 35"C for 60 minutes gave the highest germination percentage that was 36.67 %. Seeds being treated with Thiram powd er for two , four) six and eight days then th ey were gemlinated in river sa nd. The res ults from this trea tment shown that seeds treat ed fo r six days have highest gemlinalion percentage of 38.33 %.
