Abstract

This research was conducted to investigate the relationship between five underlying dimensions of purchasing social responsibility and its drivers. Questionnaires were distributed to 110 managers and employees of purchasing department ranging from small to medium sized services firms throughout Kuala Lumpur and Penang. Data collection is done via the convenient sampling method. Based on this research, the result revealed that implementation of purchasing social responsibility is not positively related to individual values of purchasing employees. The results showed that customer pressure, government regulation, employees' initiatives, people-oriented organizational culture and top management leadership are positively related to implementation of purchasing social responsibility.
