Abstract
Senior citizens consist of elderly men and women aged 60 years and above. Among the elderly, there are a few who are less able and more dependent in their daily activities. The objective of this research is to identify the problems faced in the daily practices of the elderly with a focus on welfare homes. Among the design factors that complicate the applications are the opening and studs, armpit area, arms, necks, hips and buttocks. The research methodology involves qualitative and quantitative methods namely observation, interviews, questionnaires, experimentation, productions and validation of final design. These had resulted in the creation of the UNITY concepts an elderly clothing design adapted from traditional patterns which provide comfort and ease in performing daily activities and produce special clothing for old folks home.
