Abstract

The purpose of the study is to ex amine the successfulness of job rotation practices in public academic institution. Eight assistant r egistrars from different faculties who have previous ly undergone job rotation practices were interviewed. O bjectives of this study are; to identify the perc eption of staff pertaining job rotation practices, factors that influence and obstruct the successfulness of job rotation practices and also the eff ect of job rotation practices on individual and organization. The study use s qualitative method for data col lection. In depth interview w as used for data collection. The successfulness of job rotation practices not only depends on individual s but also on the organization. A successful job rotation practices will influence workers Career Development besi des helpi ng to increase institution productivity t h rough human resources which are knowled geable, skillful and experience . This study is expected to contribute to the body of knowledge in this area where they were very little . It also can be used as guidance to the academic institution to perform job rotation and can be use d as a model for trainer to develop a suitable Training and Development program to employees who are involves in job rotation practices.
