Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the level o f preparation for retirement among future women retirees at two government agencies; Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara and Jabatan Pelajaran Negeri Sarawak, Jalan Simpang Tiga, Kuching, Sarawak. This study used questionnaire to collect data. In this study, 54 wom en at the age of 45 and above were selected in these two agencies as respondents. They responded to the questionnaire s in three aspects that is, financial, health and new career after retirement . This study also investigates the correlation and difference between demographic factors such as ethnic, monthly income, level of education and position with the three aspects above. Pearson Correlation and One Way ANOVA were used. Generally, One Way ANOVA analysis used to investigate the difference between demograp hic factors such as ethnic and level of education with the three aspects (financial, health and new career after retirement). Pearson Correlation was used to investigate the correlation between demographic factors such as position and monthly income with t he three aspects above. Twelve hypotheses were tested and ten hypotheses were accepted. Among the findings of this research are that there is no significance correlation between ethnic demographic factor with the level of preparation for retirement ba sed o n financial, health and new career after retirement. Besides that, this study also indicates that there is significance difference between education levels of demographic factor with the level of preparation for ret irement based on new career after retire ment aspect.
