Abstract

Nowadays, home security is becoming more important to the homeowner. As a result, the homeowner is willing to install a home intrusion detection system to improve the security of the home. When they leave the home for a long journey, the property and important belongings in the house will be protected with the greatest security. But the problem is that some of the sensors in the home intrusion detection system are too sensitive, and the system will keep triggering the false positive alert until the house owner refuses to receive the alarm. Therefore, this project has proposed a great solution to solve this problem. The proposed project has provided a reactive reaction for detection. The user can set the detection rule and activate the alarm if an intrusion happened. Also, users will be able to configure the system remotely through the Internet in real time. The user can have a customized detection zone or switch the intrusion mode based on the situation. The proposed project uses the Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology. A literature review of existing systems is required before designing the proposed system to define the project's requirements. After reviewing the existing system, the system architecture, activity diagram, entity relationship diagram, and sketch of the user interface have been designed to meet the project requirements. For the project implementation, the system will be developed based on the system design and project requirements that have been identified in Final Year Project 1. The prototype system will have reactive motion detection by using the PIR sensor. The microcontroller and the web server will process the sensor data and provide a positive intrusion alert to the user using the Flutter Push Notification method if the intrusion has happened. The mobile application has been developed to allow users to have ease of configuration to the prototype system such as adding a sensor function and sensor zone configuration function
