Abstract

This final year project report proposes a web-based salon booking system aimed at resolving the challenges faced by clients of traditional salons. The ideal situation anticipates a system that allows clients to book appointments at their convenience, without having to endure long waiting queues or making late-night calls to secure a slot. The system seeks to eliminate the problem of double booking that often arises in traditional salons, where clients may arrive for their appointments only to find that their slot has been taken by another customer. The proposed solution is a web-based salon booking system that leverages modern technology to streamline the booking process. This system enables clients to book appointments online, view available slots in real-time, and receive confirmation emails once their bookings are confirmed. The system is also equipped with a reminder feature that sends clients notifications of their scheduled appointments, helping to reduce the incidence of missed appointments and last-minute cancellations. To decipher the solution, the web-based salon booking system provides an online platform where clients can easily book appointments at their convenience, eliminating the need for long waiting queues and late-night calls. This system also utilizes an automated booking system that ensures that clients are assigned to specific slots, preventing the problem of double booking. Additionally, the reminder feature helps to reduce the incidence of missed appointments and last-minute cancellations, enabling the salon to optimize its scheduling and reduce revenue loss. Overall, the proposed web-based salon booking system represents a significant improvement over the traditional salon booking process and is expected to improve the overall customer experience.
