Abstract

The purpose of this project is to design and develop a web-based system called "Hoverboard Cruiser: Online Rental System" for Marina Wing Night, a company that rents out hoverboards. The system will assist the company in managing customer orders, inventory, and order status effectively. A literature review of existing applications was conducted to study the design, features, and functionality implemented in similar systems. The requirements were then analyzed and translated into an Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) and a Data Flow Diagram (DFD) to facilitate the design process. To ensure the project is completed successfully, the Waterfall Methodology was selected as the project management approach. The system will streamline the rental process, improve inventory management, and provide real-time data on order status to the company and its customers. The system implementation phase involves developing and constructing a new system to meet customer expectations and system requirements. It encompasses both the conceptual and practical implementation, addressing the system's interface and functionality. System testing is conducted to validate the Hoverboard Rental System, ensuring its accuracy, correctness, and comprehensiveness through functional and non-functional testing. This stage is crucial for identifying and resolving any defects or issues within the system. The section provides an overview of the project, including achievements, contributions, limitations, and post-project considerations. Project outcomes are evaluated based on their alignment with initial objectives, acknowledging unmet requirements as potential areas for future enhancements and system upgrades to improve functionality and user satisfaction
