Abstract

Macrofungi are one of the most diverse groups of organisms. They play ecologically important roles as decomposers, mutualists and pathogens. Some species, with rigid fruiting bodies, can be found year-round, but most, particularly gilled mushrooms, grow primarily during the rainy season. The main types of vegetation found in Bako National Park are mangroves, beaches, cliffs, riverine, mixed dipterocarp and Kerangas.
