Abstract

The evolution of technology has instilled the need, among Malaysians, to develop and \ compete in creating IT literate citizens. This, by all means creates a solid platform for all the organizations in Malaysia to circulate information via Internet. It important for FCSJT, UNIMAS graduates to update their knowledge with current technology trend. Mobile based application has started growing in fast trend and Malaysia currently has a higher number of smart phone user compared to other Asian countries. Mathscape is mobile based android application developed for first year students. Mathscape covers important chapters taught in Calculus course. Mathscape aims to increase students' interest in learning mathematics by providing a suitable tool for teaching and learning. This application is designed to provide a comprehensive learning tool for the first year students. Mathscape is designed to suite FCSIT, UNIMAS curriculum. The approach used in this application had been thorough and in depth to produce a precise and well-organized set of mathematical knowledge. This project would be significant in a way that it would serve as a research paradigm for academicians.
