Abstract

This study aims to discuss the factors of involvement and survival strategies of women among weekend traders in Pasar Beluran. The objective of this study was to identify the factors of women's involvement in business and to examine the survival strategies of women in weekend business. This study also examines the survival strategies of women to face the challenges of life in Beluran. The research method used is a quantitative approach by using data collection techniques through questionnaires form, observation techniques and literature review. Initially, this study targeted 50 women traders, but only 30 traders were involved in this study due to the limitations of the study while performing data collection. The results of the study found that women's involvement in weekend business is due to economic and social factors. Furthermore, the results of the study found that the survival strategies undertaken by women traders are to diversify the types of products sold, offer discounts, establish friendly relationships with customers and practice financial management. In addition, this study also found that the survival strategy used by women traders to face the challenges of life in Beluran is to become traders or entrepreneurs. Through this study, women traders are able to share and demonstrate survival strategies that can be practiced by other traders. In addition, this study also provides new knowledge to individuals who want to get involved in business.
