Abstract

normalization of LGBT is increasingly introduced into society without seeing the impact. Malaysia is the second of six Asian countries that reject the existence of LGBT. Therefore, the objective of the study is to identify the understanding of the community's perception of LGBT culture, to identify the factors that influence individuals involved in LGBT culture, to identify LGBT cultural effects on individual and community life, and to identify suggestions to curb LGBT symptoms in society. This study uses qualitative methods and uses thematic analysis methods to analyze data to gain an understanding of this issue. The sample of this study consisted of respondents in men and women between the ages of 20 to 30 were who randomly selected using the Convenience Sampling method. The results of the study explain that the public's perception of this LGBT culture depends on the understanding and acceptance of whether the perception is explained through reading or self -understanding of this LGBT culture. In addition, the main factors of individual involvement in this LGBT culture are influenced by peer influence followed by Western culture, lack of religious education, social media influence, identity confusion, sexual orientation, and individual thinking on their own choice. This study found that the effects of LGBT cultural involvement on individuals and society also affected physical and mental health, discrimination from society, deviated from the norms of life, having a negative influence on society, and damaged self-efficacy. The study also found a proposal to curb the issues of the normalization of LGBT culture by strengthening laws, restrictions on social media, religious education, education, and parental education, conducting awareness campaigns, placing in rehabilitation centers, and rejecting leaders who fight or accept culture LGBT. In the end, the existence of this LGBT culture provides significant exposure to the factors of engagement, impact on individuals and society, and suggestions to curb this LGBT culture.
