Abstract

This project studies the decision making of accept or reject order promise and order delivery for manpower scheduling in e-grocery delivery simulation. All customers' requests must be served within the period upon arrivals and deadline. The scheduling process takes into account compled consideration wuch as meal break allocation, multiple trip travelling, distance to deliver goods, food exposure time, route capacity and minumum delivery team. Each loading team is scheduled according to predefined maximum working hour to prevent loading team over tired. An insertion based heuristic is proposed to generate the solutions in a short amount of time for large data. This is to maximize the profit and minimize manpower used when performing all customers' requests. The insertion must minimize the number of tasks affected on existing tasks and perform within arrivals and deadling. The simulation will auto suggest suitable time slot when there is no suitable time slot to perform customers task. Computational results show that insertion heuristic is suitable and efficient to solve large number of data with compled constraints.
