Abstract

This study aims to study the relationship between parenting style, adult attachment, and selfesteem among undergraduate students in the Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak UNIMAS. This study adopted a correlational research design with a simple random sampling technique. A Pearson correlation was used in this research to analyse the relationships between variables. This research found a significant relationship between adult attachment avoidance, and authoritative and permissive parenting style. This research also found a significant relationship between authoritarian parenting style and adult attachment anxiety. It is suggested for future researchers to be conducted qualitatively with an in-depth interview as it could help the researcher to get more insights on this area through one-to one discussion between interviewer and respondents.
