Abstract

Mangalai and Mongigol dance in Tinagas Dusun tribe in Sabah is rarely presented to the public cause these lesser-known traditional dance. This is caused by insufficient promotion among the ethnic of Dusun Tinagas. This research was conducted in the Malinsau village at Ranau, Sabah, which is one of the settlements Dusun Tinagas tribes. This research uses six informants consisting of two women and four men aged 40 to 70 years old and above and have experience in Mangalai and Mongigol dance. There are three objectives of this research were first identified Mangalai and Mongigol dance concept, the next is to examine the promotion management of Mangalai and Mongigol dance, and the third was to review the program performances of Mangalai and Mongigol dance not practiced in any event.
