Abstract

The main objective of this study is to determine the relationship between the organizational culture towards the success of TQM implementation in manufacturing company. The organizational culture include clan culture, adhocracy culture, market culture, and hierarchy culture. This study is a quantitative design research and questionnaire survey as the research instrument. In this study, a sample of 57 employees took part in this survey. Data were collected from a manufacturing company in Klang, Selangor. The data collected and analyzed by using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 22.0 software program. Pearson’s correlation coefficient is used to test the hypothesis of the study which to determine the relationship between the organizational culture (clan culture, adhocracy culture, market culture, and hierarchy culture) towards the success of TQM implementation (supervisory support barrier, employee barrier, and information management barrier) in manufacturing company. Result from this study shows that both clan culture and market culture have a significant relationship with the success of TQM implementation. The r value for clan culture and market culture are -0.278 and 0.300. Despite that adhocracy culture and hierarchy culture were found no correlation with the success of TQM implementation. Lastly, the researcher suggested that the organization should include the quality element in the orientation for all the newly join staffs.
