Abstract

Hazardous pollutants like Policyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) In crude oil became a concern to people and researcher because it mutagenic, carcinogenic and toxic properties. Bioremediation is the best treatment introduced since it can utilize the components of this pollutant into safer form like water and carbon dioxide. Ligninolytic enzyme is the one that enrolled in degrading hydrocarbon structure of this contaminant. Bionectria sp. was used in this study as inoculum in studying the peroxidase enzyme released in crude oil degradation process. The finding shows that 69.23% of crude oil loss at the end of this experiment with the highest reading of enzyme activity recorded, lignin peroxidase, 5.586 U/L'at Day 15.
