Abstract

The car plate recognition security system is a process of capturing an image of a car plate number for monitoring vehicles in automatic zone access control. This paper demonstrates how the combination of the Internet of Things (IoT) and image processing to provide automatic detection of car plate number. The Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) is the system that involves the character segmentation of the character and sends an alert notification to the resident via emails in the case where a potential intruder is detected. The captured images will be converted into raw data and analyses it with the existing data in the system. The result demonstrates the system is able to monitor the cars entering and existing the premise. In addition, the system implements mapping function that uses to locate foreign vehicle that is entering the premise. The admin or security department will receive list of coordinate from residents that reports the location of foreign vehicle.
